1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure bcrypt hash). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from those providers.

To provide personalized destiny readings, we may also collect birth information you voluntarily provide, including birth date, birth time, birth city, birth country, and gender. This information is used to calculate your BaZi (Four Pillars), Five Elements distribution, Chinese Zodiac, and daily fortune readings.

We also collect usage data such as divination records, daily fortune history, check-in streaks, and Karma Points to power your personalized experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To calculate and display your BaZi birth chart, Five Elements, and Chinese Zodiac
• To generate personalized daily fortune readings based on your birth data
• To process I Ching divination requests and store your reading history
• To provide AI-powered destiny analysis (Premium feature)
• To track your Karma Points, check-in streaks, and account activity
• To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, payment confirmation)
• To process payments via PayPal

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. Birth information is stored to enable destiny profile calculations and personalized readings.

Payment processing is handled entirely by PayPal — we do not store any card or payment details on our servers.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a session token stored in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. We may also cache destiny profile and fortune data in session storage for faster page loads. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and infrastructure
• PayPal — payment processing for Premium subscriptions
• Google / Apple — optional OAuth sign-in
• SMTP (163.com) — transactional email delivery (verification codes)
• Qwen AI — AI-powered destiny analysis for Premium users

6. AI-Generated Content

Tao Fate uses AI to generate personalized BaZi analysis and divination readings for Premium users. Your birth chart data and divination context are sent to the AI service to produce these readings. AI-generated content is for entertainment and cultural exploration purposes only and should not be considered professional advice.

7. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data (including birth information, destiny profiles, divination records, and fortune history) at any time by contacting us at hi@taofate.cn. We will process your request within 30 days.

8. Disclaimer

Tao Fate is an entertainment and cultural exploration platform. All destiny readings, fortune predictions, and AI analyses are based on traditional Chinese metaphysical systems and are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They should not be used as a substitute for professional medical, financial, legal, or psychological advice.
